Louth pulled off one of the great Croke Park victories this afternoon, with a 0-27 to 2-18 win over Monaghan in their All-Ireland quarter-final.
The Wee County were down to 14 men in the seventh minute, after Séan Callaghan was sent off for a heavy hit on Oisín McGorman.
In the end it mattered not, with Louth invigorated by losing a man - possibly unfairly - as they found a new level within themselves to advance to the semis.
Following the game, Louth captain Sam Mulroy provided fascinating insight into Louth's training and a possible reason as to why they were able to overcome the player deficit.
He said: "If I'm being honest with you, we've carried quite a small squad over the year and we've rarely played 15 v 15.
"Which has been lending itself to big pitches and the big spaces to defend against.
"So it's maybe helped us in a way, I don't know.
"But we haven't, I suppose, practised that scenario, in essence, no."
