We’re not really sure where to start here.

Japanese TV shows are odd at the best of times. But they now appear to have helped, illegally we may add, Justin Gatlin set a new world record. The time of 9.45 for the 100m dash is much quicker than the current record set by Usain Bolt of 9.58, but unfortunately for Gatlin, it won’t stand. The American sprinter of course will renew his rivalry with Bolt at this year’s Olympics in Rio, and has been given a large wind-assisted confidence boost with his blistering time on the TV show Kasupe! Gatlin was able to set the new record because of a giant fan placed at the end of the track, and two other powerful fans midway down the track, that produced a tailwind of approximately 20mph. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=84&v=nAz1gnXCTQc The record obviously isn’t going to be recorded officially, but if Gatlin is looking for an edge, watch out for some fans of the non-spectator kind in Rio later this summer. snapchat_160
