It may have taken 10 years, but finally 'Underdogs' is back on our TV screens this week.

Paul Galvin, Ray Silke and Valerie Mulcahy are the new coaches tasked with finding a new team of footballing hopefuls that will come together to take on an inter-county side. The team is made up of club footballers who have never represented their county at senior level, so you can imagine they will be out to prove themselves to those in charge of their respective county. Kieran Donaghy is without doubt the most high-profile player to come out of the show. The Tralee man was part of the 'Underdogs' panel in 2004, the most fondly remembered series of the show, as they defeated All-Ireland champions Kerry. Donaghy partnered up with Pearse O'Neill on that 'Underdogs' side, and not only did both men go on to represent Kerry and Cork with distinction, but they both won All-Ireland medals. So, the proof is there that this show can be the launchpad for someone's career. https://youtu.be/BQWbLHYwBm4 The season premier is this Thursday night at 9.30pm, we reckon there could be a few inter-county bosses watching on closely in the hope that they show can uncover the next 'Star Donaghy' for their side. The show is proper David vs Goliath stuff, and Gaels around the country are sure to be tuning in to see if they recognise any faces from rival clubs or counties. https://twitter.com/SportTG4/status/1036971117330817024 Time for these boys to show the nation why they should have been playing county this whole time.
