Real touch of class from Aidan O’Shea in defeat and brotherly love in the club championship

This is what the GAA is all about.

Brothers doing battle, clubs coming together and rising from the ashes and men - heartbroken men - standing with opposition children. Mayo SFC final Castlebar Mitchels 4-10 Breaffy 0-9 Even in defeat, Aidan O'Shea proved what a true gentleman he is as he paused for photographs with Castlebar youngsters after the game. O'Shea's and Breaffy's wait for a first ever senior title goes on as Castlebar reclaimed the Mayo championship with a whopping 3-1 return from man of the match Neil Douglas to thank. The Mitchels' kids, celebrations and all, still wanted a photo with their favourite county star though and Aidan O'Shea obliged with a real touch of class. Fair play to him.
Cork SFC final Nemo Rangers 1-10 Castlehaven 0-11 The replay yet again failed to separate the sides in the score-for-score stakes but a Barry O'Driscoll goal made all the difference in the world. After their 0-10 to 0-10 draw last week, Nemo and Castlehaven shared 22 scores on Sunday in Páirc Uí Rinn but a 45th minute green flag paved the way for Rangers. The Nemo Rangers team celebrate winning 25/10/2015 Four points from skipper Aaron Kerrigan set the stage for the club to collect their 19th county title and it wasn't a bad couple of days for a certain Kerry blow-in who was winning championships one day and releasing books the next. https://twitter.com/tomas5ky/status/658563801705533441 Sligo SFC final St. Mary's 1-20 Curry 2-11 14 years of hurt were buried emphatically as St. Mary's stormed to the Sligo championship with six points to spare. 1-5 from play off the boot of teenager Kyle Cawley inspired the glory as the stands were evacuated in fits of euphoria after the game... https://twitter.com/sligosportphoto/status/658407268757688320 Kilkenny SHC final Clara 2-12 O'Loughlin Gaels 1-13 Keith Hogan got the better of his brother Brian in the Kilkenny decider as the pair marked one another in a thrilling encounter. Conor O'Shea's second half goal proved pivotal but it was Clara skipper Keith Hogan who kept his nerve with a lengthy free in the closing stages that put two between the sides and the maroon jerseys held out for the victory. The brotherly love wasn't affected though, evident in this touching photo after the game. Keith Hogan embraces his brother Brian Hogan at the end of the game 25/10/2015 Tipperary SFC final Thurles Sarsfields 1-18 Éire Óg, Nenagh 3-11 Lar Corbett and all his experience and class came up trumps for Thurles on Sunday as the Sarsfields secured back-to-back Tipperary championships. In a ding-dong encounter separated by the minimum, the sides were level heading for the closing stages when a brace of points off the stick of Corbett guided the blue jerseys to the promised land again. We'll not ask about the Argentina flag... https://twitter.com/cbsthurles/status/658564757956526084 Wexford SFC final Oulart The Ballagh 2-15 St. Martin's 0-13 It was double glory for Oulart who not only secured another senior hurling title, but their camógs came home with glory too. The cream of Wexford made it a sixth title in seven years as Nicky Kirwan banged 1-5 for the red and blacks with Garreth Sinnott chipping in with 1-2 from play as they coasted to an eight-point win. https://twitter.com/ursulajacob/status/658559417093390336
