There was one stand out performance from Limerick’s demolition job on Kerry

Limerick's disappointing loss to Wexford last week is well and truly behind them.

Well that is if today's scoreline is anything to go by. Limerick faced Kerry in the Gaelic Grounds today in their second match of this year's Division 1B of the Allianz Hurling League. Of course, Limerick would have been left reeling after last weekend's defeat in Wexford Park but they parked that result and put in a commanding display today to emerge 6-21 to 3-8 winners at the Ennis Road venue which would have pleased manager, John Kiely. The match was quite close at one stage, with 18 minutes on the clock the sides were level 0-7 to 2-1 but that was as good as it got for Kerry and Limerick upped the gears and powered home to an emphatic victory. Two goals from Graeme Mulcahy and Tom Morrissey helped Limerick to a 10 point lead at half time. In the second half, it was a complete blitz from the Shannonsiders and Na Piarsiagh club man Ronan Lynch, paved the way with an incredible haul. The All-Ireland club medalist hit a devastating 3-11 (1-3 from play) to ensure Limerick picked up their first win of this year's league campaign. Unfortunately for Limerick, the win was soured somewhat as news filtered through that Wexford had beaten Galway by two points in Pearse Stadium which effectively means the Shannonsiders will be consigned to yet another year in the league's second tier, unless the Model County suffer a shock defeat to either Laois, Kerry or Offaly.
