Kerry use emotional video to launch Paul Galvin designed jersey

It's our favourite time of the year.

Christmas is just around the corner and we need to decide what jersey we're ordering off Santa Claus. People have been waiting for this new Kerry jersey for quite some while now, they never disappoint and it is heartening to know that it is designed by a Kerryman. Yep, Paul Galvin made a drastic career change from becoming a teacher to a wealth fashion designer and it doesn't seem to be working out too badly. https://www.instagram.com/p/BU9isHulBDp/?hl=en&taken-by=pgal10 In a statement upon the release of the jersey, Galvin said:
“At the invitation of the Kerry County Board Chairman Tim Murphy, I have been working over the past few months on the new Kerry kit design for 2018/19. Following Tim’s brief and working alongside O’Neill’s’ design and production teams while implementing my own vision for the jersey, it has been a great collaborative experience. The new design is inclusive, rich in storytelling and strong in identity. Inspired by the iconic 1985 Kerry jersey, the deep green and gold base with white trims was essential to re-connecting with Kerry’s identity while also helping to implement part of the County Board’s vision for the future in addressing the issue of number visibility for supporters. The rich colour base and re-positioning of the number upwards provides greater definition and visibility of the numbers on the back. The slightly longer sleeves offer points of difference and style. We hope that past players will recognise the new jersey as a symbol of respect, that current players will wear it as a symbol of pride and identity and that future players will want to wear it. It was an honour to work on it”
In the launch video, Kerry GAA remembers the legends of yesteryear that wore the Kerry jersey with pride. And the official Twitter page of Kerry was teasing fans this morning. https://twitter.com/Kerry_Official/status/923862088421961729 But alas, here it is.
