The GAA have proposed a 12-week ban for manager Ger Brennan, following his altercation with Galway's S&C coach Cian Breathnach McGinn during the Division 1 game between the two counties two weeks ago.
According to the Irish Examiner, the suspension is set to be contested by Dublin at a Central Hearings Committee meeting.
An eight-week ban has been recommended for Breathnach McGinn, but Galway are not set to contest.
Brennan's ban comes due to a Category IVa offence, which involves altercations with an 'opposing player or team official'.
However, Breathnach McGinn was not listed by Galway as a team official prior to the game.
If the ban is upheld, Brennan is set to miss out on any preparations for games and any match-day involvement through the whole of the Leinster championship and until the second round of the All-Ireland.
After the Galway game, Brennan said: "Myself and one of the Galway mentors, a small coming together, and silly stuff from us.
"Fergal was correct to show us both a red card.
"Hugh had just made a great save from a penalty, and tempers were high from both sides.
"It's inter-county football, so I'd say there was equal involvement from both sides.
"I'm a manager at the same time, maybe I should have sent in another official to do it.
"Look the Galway mentor he's obviously passionate about his team too, and these things can happen."
