GAA on TV: Some of the biggest club finals to be shown live this weekend

What a weekend.

Some of the biggest club finals in the GAA will be available to watch on TV this weekend. RTÉ and TG4 will have coverage of three finals on Saturday and Sunday, with some brilliant games coming up.

On Saturday evening, just to cleanse your palate, Feale Rangers play Mid Kerry in the Kerry senior football semi-final on RTÉ 2. Feal Rangers haven't won the county championship since 2007, while Mid Kerry were in a final as recently as 2020, but both will be seeing this as a big opportunity. The Kilkenny senior hurling final then kicks off our Sunday as James Stephens play Ballyhale Shamrocks at 2,30pm. https://twitter.com/SportTG4/status/1580136213339869184 The Shamrocks are chasing a historic five-in-a-row, and are undoubtedly the kingpins of Kilkenny hurling. Stephens haven't won a senior championship since 2011, but are in fine form going into this game and will back themselves to be the team that beats the defending champions.

Next up we see Na Fianna take on reigning champions Kilmacud Crokes in Dublin's senior football championship final. These two clubs have made history by booking county final spots against each other in both the football and the hurling championships. Na Fianna haven't been in a football final since 2005, back in an era where they frequently competed for the biggest prizes in Gaelic.

The likes of Jason Sherlock, Dessie Farrell and Kieran McGeeney were all a part of those teams, but there is a new era unfolding, led by Dublin's Johnny Cooper and Eoin Murchan. Crokes will be missing their star man Paul Mannion, who has been ruled out of the season through injury but can now rely on the crazy talent that is Galway's Shane Walsh, who transferred to the club just over a month ago. This is a mouthwatering tie packed with history, All-Stars and talent, and it's all available to watch on TV at 4.30 pm on TG4.
