The last time these two sides met in the championship was in last year's All-Ireland semi-final and it proved to be a classic, best known for Sean O'Shea's heroic point at the death to win the game. It wasn't the only moment of madness however, as O'Shea also scored a goal early in the game, only to miss a penalty in the same half to give Dublin a chance of staying in it. Then when everything looked to be going The Kingdom's way, Cormac Costello finds the back of the net from a bizarre angle, and things are soon all square. Of course we know that Kerry win the match, and go on to lift the Sam Maguire, but a lot of Dublin fans will tell you that things would have been different if they had their star forward, Con O'Callaghan, available for selection that day. The Munster champions might have came out on top in that game, but the whole decade before that belonged to The Boys in Blue as they dominated all of their meetings in that era. With stars like Paul Mannion, Jack McCaffrey and the iconic Stephen Cluxton returning to the panel this year as well, the challenge of winning back to back All-Irelands for Kerry has been intensified.
