Wexford hurling manager Davy Fitzgerald has been banned for eight weeks for entering the field of play during his side's Allianz Hurling League semi-final against Tipperary at Nowlan Park last Sunday.
As a result, he will miss his side's Leinster SHC quarter-final at the end of May against a round-robin qualifier, as well as a potential semi-final clash against Kilkenny on 10 June.
Fitzgerald is expected to appear the ban, which was handed down by the GAA's Central Competitions Control Committee, following his altercation with players from the Premier County last weekend.
After remonstrating with Diarmuid Kirwan, the match referee, Fitzgerald had an angry confrontation with two Tipperary players Niall O'Meara and Jason Forde.
Should any potential appeal fail, the ban will run out just hours after a potential clash against Cody's Cats.
