Jack Warner-owned newspaper hails ex-FIFA vice president as modern day Robin Hood

Sensational in every way

Patrick McCarry

Great to have a vehicle to express your side of the story, especially if the truth, as you would have it, paints you as a folklore hero.

Here is the current state of play for Jack Warner:

The former FIFA vice president was included on a list of indictments, from the United States Attorney General, for executives [past and present] of the global footballing body. He is wanted by Interpol over allegations of bribery and corruption. He claims that he fears for his life. He also seems to believe that satirical website The Onion is totally legit.

Although he is no longer part of FIFA, law enforcement authorities seem to be closing in on Warner. Undeterred, Warner continues to protest his innocence.

Luckily enough for the Trinidad and Tobago native, he happens to own a large share of the popular newspaper Sunshine.

The newspaper has published fantastical tale that paints Warner out to be a modern day Robin Hood that took FIFA on at their own, money-throwing game and won.
