Conor McGregor is set to take to make his professional boxing debut in the most daunting circumstances imaginable, as he attempts to lay his notorious left hand on the jaw of the man who may well be the most unhittable fighter in history. Wednesday evening brought confirmation that Floyd Mayweather will come out of retirement so that he can welcome the mouthiest MMA fighter of all time to the boxing ring. The bout will take place at 154lbs, a weight which most likely benefits 'The Notorious', who will be the bigger man on the night. McGregor spent most of his mixed martial arts career competing at 145lbs but has most recently fought at 155lbs, the weight at which he claimed the UFC lightweight title last November. Mayweather, meanwhile, has only fought at 154lbs on a handful of occasions and didn't have to cut much (if any) weight to do so. It was suggested that Mayweather would put his foot down and argue for a fight at the weight limit of 147lbs but that would have required a more taxing weight cut from the Irishman, who seems to have won the argument and got Mayweather to agree to a 154lbs contest.
