The day we thought would never come finally arrived, with Katie Taylor's Croke Park homecoming bout confirmed for September 5th.
French fighter Flora Pili will be her opponent on the day, which is set to be one of Ireland's greatest ever sporting occasions.
In response to the news, social media star/boxer, Jake Paul - who was Amanda Serrano's promoter during her three fights against Taylor - was full of praise for the Bray woman.
He said: "Big congrats to Katie Taylor getting the Croke Park event she’s always wanted and deserved."
Katie Taylor's promoter, Eddie Hearn, said: "It's not often I'm lost for words.
"The last person to fight at this incredible stadium? Muhammad Ali.
"When Katie Taylor walks out at Croke Park on 5 September, if there is a dry eye in the house, I will be astonished."
He then went on to praise Peter Aiken of Aiken Promotions, adding: "Peter Aiken's involvement was massive. He had the confidence to move forward with us. His experience in this market and in this venue gave us a little bit more confidence.
"We also decided that we're not going to be really making much money on the night. Which is okay. We're doing well.
"But this is more than that. My Dad might kill me but what does it really matter what we make on a night like this? Because what we leave with is something we'll never forget.
"And also it's important for the brand of our business. Let alone the financial gain, which is small for this.
"But we can forever have those images and that content. And I want to be part of it. As we gathered momentum, it mattered less and less how the bottom line looked like in terms of the show.
"There's no doubt that we have more confidence now in terms of the gate. She's bigger now than she's ever been through those fights on Netflix. The story is bigger now than it's ever been.
"Maybe, three or four years ago, we wouldn't have gone in with as much confidence."
