The NFL is continuing its take over of Ireland, announcing a huge new three-year TV deal with Virgin Media.
Last season, Virgin showed ten games, but this will now be increased to 'at least' 22 live games across their TV channels and Virgin Media Player.
As stated in the NFL's post on X: 'At least 22 live games free-to-air per season in Ireland on Virgin Media Television & Virgin Media Player
'18 Sunday 9PM games plus three Playoff games and the Super Bowl'.
Between this, the success of last season's staging of the Pittsburgh Steelers vs the Minnesota Vikings at Croke Park, and the increase in Irish players in the league, the NFL is truly making its mark on the Emerald Isle.
Senior Director International Business Development and Media at the NFL, Laura Louisy, said: “Following the success of the 2025 NFL Dublin game in Croke Park, the growing appetite in Ireland for NFL games is evident.
“Virgin Media Television played a key role in bringing the Dublin game to a huge Irish audience, and we are thrilled to build on that with an extension that expands our footprint and brings Irish fans even more games over the next three seasons.”
Director of News and Sport at Virgin Media Television, Mick McCaffrey, added: “We’re delighted to extend our partnership with the NFL and significantly increase the number of games available free-to-air for viewers across Ireland.
“The response to the 2025 NFL Dublin game demonstrated the significant growth in interest in American football here.
“This agreement reinforces our commitment to bringing major sporting events to audiences across Virgin Media Television and Virgin Media PLAY.”
