Damian Barton won't be allowed on the sideline or the dugout for Derry's remaining Allianz League games.

The Oak Leaf manager has been handed an eight-week ban for his involvement in the melee that marred the Derry and Tyrone McKenna Cup final clash. Tyrone won the heated January 23 game after extra time but Barton and a number of other personnel from both camps were shown red cards during the game. The Derry boss was hit with a touchline suspension after entering the field of play and becoming embroiled in the commotion. The ban means that the 1993 All-Ireland winner can still attend the games but from behind the wire. The aggro began after Ronan McNamee reacted to a Daniel McKinless sliding tackle by appearing to shove the Derry forward in the throat.
