Again, we're left to rue the departure of another star of our game but at least we can marvel over what has been a sensational career.

Eoin Kelly announced his retirement from inter-county hurling this evening on RTÉ News. Double All-Ireland winner Kelly has called time on what has been a phenomenal stint at the top with Tipperary. The legendary forward captained the Premier County to their last Liam McCarthy success in 2010 after originally clinching glory as a teenager back in 2001. Kelly bows out as the country's third all time top scorer, only behind Kilkenny duo Henry Shefflin and Eddie Keher. Tipp were on the verge again this year but lost out to the Cats in the decider, however the attacker has decided to call time on what has been a fantastic career.
