Kerry fans are getting excited as Tony Brosnan repeats scoring heroics

"The GAA Hour is going to follow Tony Brosnan's career very closely this year."

So declared Colm Parkinson a little under a fortnight ago, after Brosnan scored 1-14 (1-11 from play) for Dr Crokes in the Kerry Senior Football Championship. The following day, Parkinson spoke about his impressive scoring return and what he brings to the party. He said:

"I was finding out about him - a top, top-notch player. He's seriously cleaned up his act, he's in the gym, doing a load of strength and conditioning. "He's un-markable on his day and now this fella is back in the mix...There's not too many lads in counties who can mark this fella on his day.

An Gaeltacht got the Brosnan treatment at Fitzgerald Stadium, two weeks back, and it was Legion that copped it on Sunday afternoon. Named on the bench, initially, Brosnan came into the Crokes starting 15 for the throw-in. He scored 0-9 for his side as they defeated Legion 1-20 to 0-9 to march on to the Kerry SFC semi-finals. Brosnan did not have a wide against Gaeltacht and he was nine from nine today until he kicked a couple of late wides. In a post-match interview with TG4, the forward spoke about his brief time with the Kerry senior panel and his hopes for getting back in the mix for 2019.

"I kind off went off the radar a bit then, in 2016. I picked up a few injuries and wasn't playing that well, and the confidence wasn't high. "Erra, I'm around anyway and hopefully they (Kerry) come calling."
