As per a report from the Irish Examiner, the GAA are considering moving the National Hurling League Division 1A final to coincide with the 2027 Ryder Cup.
The league always concludes prior to the start of the championship season in early April, but there could be a special one-off switch next year to the weekend of September 17-19.
The Ryder Cup will take place at Adare Manor, and the GAA are hoping to take advantage of the buzz around Limerick with the final just up the road at the Gaelic Grounds.
The GAA will discuss the proposal with county boards, and 'early indications for the change are positive'.
For the move to go ahead, counties may have to rearrange club fixtures, while the Gaelic Players Association will also have to give their blessing.
