The Sky Sports deal with the GAA is one that has divided opinion in this country since it became a reality in 2014. The GAA claim that it is a way of broadening the horizons of the game, of making the game more visible at an international scale. Many Irish GAA supporters have criticised the deal, however, claiming that GAA supporters are restricted from viewing their national game due to Sky being pay-per-view. Offaly legend Michael Duignan delivered his verdict on the deal. "Can I just say another thing before we finish? My parents, my father is 83 years of age, a savage hurling man. Why should he have to go to the pub to watch a match? He doesn't go to the pub," said the St Rynaghs club man. "They (the GAA) have enough money, how much money do they want? What about the people that supported the GAA all of their lives? I think it's disgraceful," said the 49-year-old.
