Changes passed to U21 All-Ireland football Championship at Congress

Age switch-ups were the main takeaway from the first day of the GAA Congress in Carlow.
The contentious B Championship proposal was withdrawn by the Central Council at the eleventh hour but a number of motions did pass on Friday. From 2018 onwards, the U21 All-Ireland football Championship will be an U20 developmental Championship as 68.6% of the vote went in favour of the proposition. The Championship will also be played out between June and August rather than between February and April. Drawn games will also now go to extra time rather than a replay. https://twitter.com/JohnFogartyIrl/status/703340632685854721 The move to change the county level minor grade from U18 to U17 from 2018 onwards also passed at Congress with 68.2% of the vote.
