Do you want to know a secret about this particular SportsJOE? My family had a Mark II escort when I was growing up, and I can still hear the roar of the engine and the delicious sound it made when it came to life. It was a gem of a car, and the Irish love affair with escorts continues to this day with several of them competing in rally's across Ireland every single week. The thrill of a rear-wheel drive as well as the oomph under the bonnet means they're a firm favourite among petrol heads Frank Kelly is one of those men, and he along with co-driver David Vance,almost took off into space today when cresting a hill on the Sperrins Rally in Derry.
