Floyd Mayweather wants rematch with Conor McGregor after Khabib fight

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has said that he would like a rematch with former UFC Lightweight champion Conor McGregor after he fights Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Mayweather fought McGregor last August in the highest grossing pay-per-view fight of all time but now the undefeated American wants to fight Nurmagomedov and McGregor in a second fight.

Nurmagomedov called out Mayweather on Tuesday but wrote that he did not want to fight the undefeated American in Las Vegas as he waits for his hearing with the Nevada State Athletic Commission over a post-fight brawl following his win over McGregor at UFC 229.

“McGregor was still talking that shit so it’s not over,” Mayweather told TMZ Sports.

“After me and Khabib lock up, we going to lock up again. They say ‘why do you keep fighting all these MMA guys?’

“Man listen, me and Khabib are going to do crazy numbers, me and McGregor going to do crazy numbers, I only clash with guys that are going to do crazy numbers.”

Mayweather added that the order of each bout did not matter and that he was absolutely going to fight both fighters.

“We’re going to fight,” added Mayweather.

“A lot of people didn’t think me and Conor McGregor were going to fight. I want to commend Dana White [UFC President]. He’s doing a hell of a job. The thing with the Mayweather-McGregor fight, I’m glad that it happened because that made the UFC go up a notch.

“You look at what Khabib and McGregor did, I’m pretty sure they did great numbers. All I’m doing is helping keep combat sports alive.”

The last 14 fights of Mayweather’s career have taken place in Las Vegas and the 41-year-old said that Khabib will have to come meet him in his world if he wants to participate in a crossover bout.

Mayweather continued: “I’ve seen on social media that he put that basically he’ll fight but he doesn’t want to fight in Vegas. Of course, we know that Vegas is the fighting capital and after the fight, you have to conduct yourself like a true professional. Not just in the ring but outside the ring also. You must conduct yourself like a professional. It was a big melee. I haven’t had a chance to see it but from what I’ve heard, it was a crazy melee.

“Who’s the A-side? He called me out so he’s got to come to my world! It’s always the hand game.

“I’ve seen in an interview that he said when he hit Conor McGregor, he knocked Conor McGregor down and that I didn’t knock Conor McGregor down. OK, Khabib you got my leftovers. Whoop-de-doo.”
