But it looks as though it’s heading for the trash.

Conor McGregor is everywhere. He’s even in Floyd Mayweather’s gym, but not for long.

During a visit to the Mayweather Boxing Club, MMA journalist Chamatkar Sandhu spotted a discarded punching bag bearing McGregor’s face, with a load of stuff heading for the trash.

Mayweather defeated McGregor in August to stretch his professional boxing record to 50-0 in boxing’s richest ever fight.

Mayweather and McGregor regularly engaged in some verbal sparring ahead of their bout and, while the former five-division world champion insisted he did not take the MMA star all that seriously, he may have drawn inspiration from punching a bag with McGregor’s face on it.

As one of the replies said, it’s actually a brilliant piece of McGregor merchandise. And, let’s face it, it would be some craic beating the hell out of that bag.

Last week, Mayweather rubbished reports that he was set to enter the world of MMA after Dana White confirmed he was in negotiations with the 40-year-old. Mayweather had this to say on the matter during an interview with FightHype.

“Exactly what I said is this: If I could make over a billion dollars before, I could do it again. If I chose to get in the UFC and fight three fights or fight four fights and then fight Conor McGregor, I could make a billion dollars. Which I can. I could do it in three fights or even four fights – I could make a billion dollars. If I choose to get in the Octagon and fight.”

“I’m just saying I could. I’m not going to do it. I’m just saying what I could do to make a billion dollars quick, if I wanted to do that. But I never said I was going to fight in the UFC. I didn’t say that. If I wanted to, I could do. Would and could do is different things. I’m not going to do it though.”
