Crack open the piggybank

Who fancies a GAA pitch?

Poor old Kevin Costner had to build the whole thing himself in ‘Field of Dreams’ but right now, in Galway, there is a pitch, dressing rooms and handball alley on the market.

Back in May, Ballygar moved to a phenomenal new development for the use of four clubs (Ballygar Hurling, St Brendan’s GFC, St Brendan’s LGFC and Ballygar Camogie) in May 2016.

New development PRO Brian Healy detailed for SportsJOE.ie the work that went into making the new facilities among the best in Galway.

“This new development project took many years of hard work, dedication & fundraising to achieve by all with the reward being what is widely described as one of the best playing surfaces around,” said Healy.

“The clubs are very grateful to all who have contributed to these efforts and supported it through the development stages, and we all look forward to many enjoyable and successful years ahead for the clubs, their players & many supporters.”

Happily settled in their new home ground, Ballygar are free to put their former pitch on the market.

The GAA pitch in Ballygar, Galway is up for sale and it has been listed as a perfect site for agricultural use. A host of property websites have the 5.54-acre site listed and feature a selection of images. Part of the blurb reads:

‘The property has a good location on the edge of the town and is serviced by a public road and footpath… It also has potential for a variety of uses commercial or residential subject to planning. It is also an opportunity for anyone seeking a holding of lands with potential.’

Or if you fancy owning a GAA pitch.
