All-Ireland club hurling and county football games are both on TV this weekend

Lee Costello

The county scene is heating up.

This weekend boasts four live games to get your teeth stuck into, with a nice split of two football games on the Saturday, followed by two hurling matches on the Sunday.

It’s all any true GAA fan would want, to be able to sit down and enjoy the spectacles of our great sport for the full weekend.

Saturday also brings county matches back to the television, with the O’Byrne Cup, and McKenna Cup finals taking place.

Dublin will play Laois, who are hoping to win the tournament for the first time since 2005.

In Ulster, it will be two familiar foes as Monaghan face Donegal this Saturday evening, in what is sure to be a very tight game.

Sunday is where the real action is however, as Waterford’s Ballygunner meet Derry’s Slaughtneil in Parnell Park, and the reigning champion’s Ballyhale Shamrocks from Kilkenny will take on Galway’s St Thomas.

O’Byrne Cup final

Dublin v Laois, Netwatch Cullen Park, 3pm.

Dr McKenna Cup final

Sunday
