Transfer Rumours: Arsenal to go all in on Real Madrid’s Isco this summer

Could the Spaniard be off to the Emirates

Neil Treacy

£32.9m is a remarkably specific transfer fee.

And if Metro are to be believed, that’s the sum Arsenal will be forking out to land Real Madrid’s Isco this summer.

The Spain international is a regular in the Real side, but it’s thought the Gunners will try to twist the arm of their long-term target to move to the Premier League.

Metro say £32.9m is the figure Real want. Not £32.8m, not £33m. Exactly £32.9m. Hmmm.

Queens Park Rangers v Southampton - Premier League

Another player on Arsenal’s radar, according to The Sun, is Southampton’s bulldozing midfielder Victor Wanyama.

The 23-year-old Kenyan will reportedly cost £20m, with Southampton keen to keep him at the club.

Wanyama told the paper that Arsenal are interested in making him a Gunner, but says he hasn’t made a decision on where his future lies.

“Wenger has been talking about me.

“He has let it be known he would like to sign me this summer.

“But we’ve had a fantastic season at Saints and I want to stay focused on helping the club qualify for Europe.

“Then we’ll see where I end up in the summer,” he said.

Hummels Utd

German newspaper Bild say that Manchester United have made the first move to lure Mats Hummels to the club, by making a bid of £21.5m.

Hummels has been tipped to follow departing manager Jurgen Klopp out of Dortmund this summer, and United are believed to be winning the race to sign the German World Cup winner.

It’s though that the German club had hoped to hold out for much more from one of their prized assets, but with no Champions League football on offer next season, they have lost some of their bargaining power.

Manchester City v Sheffield Wednesday - FA Cup Third Round

Yaya Toure’s agent Dimitri Seluk says he will hold talks with Man City to determine the midfielder’s future.

Toure has cut a forlorn figure this season, as Manchester City’s title challenge fizzed out after Christmas, and it’s believed he’s looking for a route out of the club.

Sky Sports say the midfielder’s agent will speak to the club in the coming days and weeks, adding that the player is always looking for new challenges.

Meanwhile the Daily Mail say City’s players would welcome the appointment of Patrick Vieira as manager, should Manuel Pellegrini get sacked this summer.

The Uruguayan has been the subject of much speculation after City’s poor defence of their Premier League title, and their continued failures in Europe.

Vieira is currently the youth team manager at the club, but is highly regarded as a future Premier League manager.

Chelsea v Everton - Premier League

Branislav Ivanovic could depart Chelsea this summer, according to The Daily Express.

The Serbian has been rock solid at the back for The Blues in recent seasons, and he’s also been a threat going forward, scoring six times in all competitions.

They say Bayern Munich are keen to lure him to the Bundesliga, taking advantage of Chelsea’s policy to only offer one year contracts to players over 30.

However they say Bayern will have to make Chelsea a very attractive offer, with Ivanovic a favourite of manager Jose Mourinho.

Southampton are still holding out for £2om if they are to sell striTottenham Hotspur v Southampton - Premier Leagueker Jay Rodriguez, despite the fact that the player hasn’t played in over 12 months.

According to The Star, Man City and Spurs are keeping tabs on the English International, who hasn’t played since tearing his cruciate ligament last April.

He’s due to make his return before the end of the season, and it’ll be a chance for potential suitors to see if he’s worth the weighty price tag on his shirt.

Arsenal v Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League

Hugo Lloris may have signed a new contract at Spurs this season, but The Guardian say he’s ready to leave the club in search of Champions League football.

Spurs look destined to finish another campaign outside the top four, and they say the French shotstopper is keen to prove himself in Europe’s elite club competition.

They say he made his feelings about the Champions League known to the club at the time of the contract signing, and the signing of Swansea’s Michel Vorm has been a contingency plan for when Lloris ultimately leaves.
