Richard Keys is getting incredibly angry about something incredibly small in his latest blog

More conspiracies at Sky it seems

Neil Treacy

Ah, the Richard Keys blog, what did we do before it graced our screens?

One of our favourite parts of the week is reading the thoughts of the former Sky Sports Presenter.

It generally contains sly digs at his former employers and constant reminders of his own importance, and this week’s installment is no different.

Richard is absolutely outraged that Chelsea weren’t presented with the Premier League trophy after winning the title yesterday. I mean, they still have two more home games to come before the end of the season, but whatever, Richard is adamant that it should have been presented yesterday.

“One last thing on the game at The Bridge. Where the hell was the trophy? Everybody knew Chelsea were going to win it at the weekend so why not be ready for a post match presentation?”

But you see, Richard knows why. The question was all just a way of setting you up for the bombshell he’s about to drop. It’s all a Sky Sports conspiracy, Illuminati proportions.

“Of course I know why – because Sky want to choreograph things on the final day. Wrong. And I would’ve argued wrong had I still been there. Scandalously wrong. It should’ve been presented on Sunday. Had Chelsea failed – fine, put it back in its box. But they didn’t, so present it on the day of the triumph. Poor. Very, very poor.”

“Scandalously wrong” for a club to have to wait until their last home game of the season to be given the trophy? God knows how Richard felt about Atletico Madrid having to wait 105 days to get their hands on the La Liga trophy after winning it last season.

However, the “scandalous” non-trophy presentation at the Bridge isn’t the only thing Richard is letting us in on this week.

He’s also telling us that he was apparently the only person who though Newcastle were in relegation trouble prior to Saturday’s loss at Leicester, and also reminding us that it was HE who dubbed them “the Entertainers” back in the mid 90s.

“I couldn’t help feeling desperately sorry for Newcastle fans on Saturday, ironically the anniversary of King Kev’s rescue mission in 1992 – at Leicester! How times have changed since the heady days of the team I christened ‘The Entertainers’.

“What a mess. I’ve been warning for weeks that they’re not safe. Only now are people beginning to realise what a perilous position they’re in.”

Despite the fact that Newcastle lost seven in a row prior to Saturday’s hammering, it seems nobody else other that Richard thought they were in relegation trouble previously.

Just where would we be without him?
