Mohamed Salah admitted next season could be his last at Liverpool due to his deal expiring in 2023 and the lack of progression in contract negotiations. The Egyptian forward is the top scorer in the Premier League this season with 22 goals as Liverpool chase Manchester City's one-point lead with six games remaining.

Salah confirmed his future is still up in the air due to the lack of progression in contract negotiations between the players' representatives and the club. The 29-year-old, who has 30 goals in all competitions this season, emphasised money is not the sole reason for the delay in contract negotiations. "I don’t know, I have one year left," Salah told FourFourTwo. "I think the fans know what I want, but in the contract it’s not everything about the money at all. So I don’t know, I can’t tell you exactly. I have one year left and the fans know what I want."

Salah alluded to the support Liverpool fans provide him with, displaying banners and signing chants about him at Anfield. The Champions League winner said it's going to be "a really sad moment" when he leaves the Reds as the club means so much to him. The Egyptian, who has had spells at Basel, Chelsea, Florentina, and Roma, pinpointed Liverpool as the club he has enjoyed the best in his career.

"To play in that atmosphere and to see the fans always behind me. I have banners in the stadium and they’re always singing my song," Salah added.

"It’s going to be a really sad moment. This club means a lot to me.

"I’ve enjoyed my football here more than anywhere, I gave the club everything and everybody saw that."
