The Wealdstone Raider invades Tyson Fury’s press conference

Jack O'Toole

Remember the Wealdstone Raider?

The Wealdstone F.C. supporter who went viral after heckling opposing fans of Whitehawk F.C. at a football match in March 2013? Well he crashed Tyson Fury’s press conference on Wednesday to challenge the former World Heavyweight champion.

Fury will face 39-year-old Albanian Sefer Seferi in his return fight at the Manchester Arena this weekend. The undefeated Manchester native has not fought since his world title win over Wladimir Klitschko in November 2015, due to a variety of issues including a failed drugs test.

Fury said that he is treating Seferi (23-1) like he would heavyweight champions Anthony Joshua or Deontay Wilder and that he plans on winning all his belts back despite a two-and-a-half year lay-off from the sport.

“Sefer is a good fighter, I’m not underestimating him,” Fury told Sky Sports. “I look at him the same way I look at [Anthony] Joshua, Wladimir [Klitshcko], [Deontay] Wilder, anybody.

“He is a dangerous puncher – 21 KOs. He is in good shape, he is a good looking man and he’ll be coming to knock me spark out on Saturday.

“We’ve all got the same number of chins. If he’s knocked out 21 men before, if he gets it on me he’ll knock me spark out too.

“I want to keep on going, win all my belts back and become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world again. It is my job not to let him do that.”
