WATCH: Sky Sports call Katie Taylor British

The British are losing the run of themselves.

For some reason, the British media seem to think that successful sportspeople from county Wicklow belong to them. In the past they tried to claim Irish professional golfer, and Greystones native Paul Dunne as one of their own. On Monday, Bray's Katie Taylor was referred to by Sky Sports presenter Jo Wilson as a Brit. This isn't the first time they have dubbed our sport-stars as "British," with Conor McGregor receiving the same treatment in the recent past. Katie Taylor did us all proud on Saturday night, she's been doing us proud for some years now, and that's what earned her the title of the greatest amateur boxer of all time as she entered the ring to fight Anahi Sanchez with the World title up for grabs.
