The grudge match between Gary “Spike” O’Sullivan and Anthony FitzGerald ended with a bang.
Cork middleweight Gary O’Sullivan went toe-to-toe with Dubliner Anthony FitzGerald on the undercard of Matthew Macklin’s vs Jorge Sebastian Heiland. It didn’t take long for Spike to settle as he knocked FitzGerald out cold with a stunning one-punch knockout in the first round.
He landed flush with a monstrous right haymaker that sent his opponent crashing to the canvas. FitzGerald struggled back to his feet but the referee ruled that he was unable to continue and awarded O’Sullivan the TKO victory. O’Sullivan called out Macklin after the fight.
