Irish boxing experts Michael Carruth, Jimmy Magee and Kenneth Egan put her magnificent achievements in the sport into context and they make a really convincing argument for the Bray boxer.
Taylor faces stiff competition for the award in the form of world number one golfer Rory McIlroy, fellow boxer Carl Frampton, paralympian and European double gold medallist Jason Smyth and Six Nations winning fly half Johnny Sexton, to name but a few.
