The Fighting Irish: Gary Spike O’Sullivan makes it 20 wins with a little help from Micky Ward

Spike O’Sullivan and Micky Ward. Things just got serious.

Cork’s prized boxer moved to 20 professional victories last night in Madison Square Garden by giving Milton Nunez short shrift.

The Colombian was ruthlessly cast aside as O’Sullivan ran up a third-round TKO to make it 20 wins in 21 fights.

But he had a certain Boston legend in his corner for the fight, too. The famous figure of former world champion Irish Micky Ward was a massive boost for O’Sullivan who went about impressing one of his heroes.

We just hope this is the start of a special partnership.
