Joe Ward has won his third European Boxing Championship Gold medal in the last seven years.
The Moate man defeated Russia’s Muslim Gadzhimagomedov in the final in Kharkiv today.
Both fighters had impressed on their way to the finals having won all of their bouts unanimously.
The Irish man kept his phenomenal record at the European stage and his gritty style wasn't to be denied.

The bout was tit for tat in the early stages but Ward soon stamped his class on the fight.
Ward’s victory was via a unanimous decision, against Russia’s Muslim Gadzhimagomedov.
Ward won his first European title in 2011, and his second in 2015.
