Conor McGregor wasn’t the only Irish fighter to secure a big win in America last night

Jason Quigley remains unbeaten.

As Conor McGregor was making his way to the Octagon at UFC 189 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, another Irish fighter was recording an impressive victory in Los Angeles. Jason Quigley made it seven wins from seven professional bouts with a a second-round knockout of Tom Howard. The Donegal super-middleweight knocked his opponent down twice in the second round, before the referee stepped in and stopped the fight.Quigley is signed to Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions, after turning pro in April 2014. The 24 year old won silver for Ireland at the World Championships in 2013 at 75kg. Speaking about Quigley last year, boxing legend De la Hoya said the Irish prospect is a world champion in the making. "I became aware three years ago. He’s a good kid, he’s hungry, he’s a hard worker. What really stands out is his ability to want to be a great boxer inside the ring."
