Irish boxing put its stamp on the globe once more as another fighter joined Mick Conlan in the World Championship finals.
Joe Ward stormed into at least a silver medal slot on Monday evening with a dominant performance over Elshod Rasulov of Uzbekistan.
The Westmeath light heavyweight outclassed his opponent, opening a cut on Rasulov's eye in the opening round and controlling the contest effortless from there.
All three judges gave all three rounds to Ward who was already guaranteed a bronze but now goes on to compete for gold.
The win also means that the Moate native has booked his flight to Rio and fellow Olympian, Paddy Barnes, was the first to congratulate him.
