Chantelle Cameron has declared that the trilogy fight with Katie Taylor is "not happening" and the Englishwoman also had some choice words for her foe.
Both fighters are currently one-apiece with Cameron winning the first bout and Taylor taking the rematch, both of which took place at the 3Arena in Dublin.
Just a few weeks ago Cameron announced that the third fight would take place on May 25th, again at the 3Arena, despite all of the speculation and public chatter about hosting it at Croke Park stadium.
What did seem strange was the fact that the Northampton-born boxer was the only one who shared this news online, with Taylor's team, DAZN, Matchroom Boxing and Eddie Hearn remaining silent on the matter.
This was the first red flag that the fight was not happening, and that Cameron was simply announcing it in order to try and force the Wicklow warrior's hand and get negations over the line.
Ultimately it appears that this tactic didn't work, and now Cameron has posted on social media, declaring that the fight is off.
"Just an update on talks with the Katie fight. I have agreed to a massive purse reduction to make this fight happen financially as this was what I was told was the hold up from the fight being agreed," Cameron wrote on Instagram.
"The reason is because I wanted to create my own legacy.
"Now it looks like Katie will take a 'keep busy' fight and avoid me as I think she knows that certain things that went her way in the last fight won't happen again.
"Sorry to the actual boxing fans who wanted to see this fight but the trilogy not happening is down to Katie and her team and not me."
