Carl Frampton fight cancelled in bizarre circumstances

After all that, Carl Frampton's fight on Saturday night has been called off.

Carl Frampton was set to take on Andres Gutierrez in a WBC title eliminator in Belfast's SSE Arena. After missing weight by 1lb, Frampton ruled himself out of the prize of a title fight against champion Garry Russel Jr. Gutierrez made weight and was therefore still able to get his crack at the belt by beating 'the Jackal'. "Cyclone Promotions and The SSE Arena regret to announce that the "Return of The Jackal" event has been cancelled due to an accident to Andres Gutierrez," the statement read. "It is hoped that the event will be re-scheduled but ticket holders are advised to retain their tickets and contact point of purchase for further information. "We very much regret the inconvenience caused."
