WATCH: Daniel Agger gushes about love for Liverpool while getting part of club permanently scarred onto his skin

You'll never get that off

SportsJOE

His skin may be black, grey and blue with ink, but Daniel Agger’s heart will always be red.

The great Dane retired from the beautiful game earlier this year, but he will never forget the time he spent at Liverpool… mainly because he has reminders literally scarred onto his skin.

Agger added two more pieces of body art to the collection recently courtesy of famed tattoo artist and Miami Ink star Ami James. The former defender added two liver birds to what he presumably calls his “Liverpool hand,” which already bore tattoos of the letters “YNWA” across the knuckles.

He explained to the artist that he actually got the acronym for the club’s anthem scarred onto his body back when he was nearly sold by the club.

“The club had a big possibility to sell me before the transfer window closed for a lot of money. And two or three days before the transfer window closed, I basically closed all the talk of that.”

“It’s not only the club, it’s also the city. It’s everything about it. I still miss Liverpool – as a football club, but also as a city.”

Once a Red, always a Red.
