A former Manchester United player who reportedly 'fell out' with Erik ten Hag has liked a club post confirming the news of his sacking.
Earlier today, it was announced that the Dutchman was set to leave the club imminently following an exclusive broken by David Ornstein of The Athletic.
Soon after, the club released an official statement across social media platforms, including Instagram.
And eagle-eyed fans instantly noticed a player who liked the news:
Raphael Varane left the club at the end of last season following the club's FA Cup victory over Manchester City as his swan-song.
Following that, he then signed for Italian outfit Como, however then shortly after retired as a legend of the game due to sadly being unable to overcome a serious injury.
It was understood by the Daily Mail however that Varane and Ten Hag's relationship completely deteriorated following being benched for club stalwart Jonny Evans.
The report claimed that the former World Cup winner felt undervalued by his gaffer.
Varane released an official statement upon his retirement in September:
"In my career I have taken on many challenges, rose to occasion after occasion, almost all of it was supposed to be impossible. Reflecting on these moments, it is with immense pride and a feeling of fulfilment that I am announcing my retirement from the game that we all love.
“I hold myself to the highest standard, I want to go out strong, not just holding on to the game. It takes a big dose of courage to listen to your heart and your instinct. I have fallen and risen a thousand times, and this time, it’s the moment to stop and hang my boots up with my final game winning a trophy at Wembley.
"I have defended every badge with everything I have, and loved every minute of the journey.
“I will remain with Como. Just without using my boots and shin pads. Something I am looking forward to sharing more about soon.
"Thank you, football.”
