Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has said that he has entered into contract talks with the club over signing a new deal.
The Dutchman has been at Anfield for almost seven years after joining in January 2018 from Southampton.
The 33-year-old has been vital to Liverpool's recent success on the pitch, helping the club win its first and only Premier League title as well as the Champions League.
The centre-back said: "Discussions are ongoing, we will see what happens in the future.
"My full focus is on Liverpool, wanting to win games that are ahead of me and nothing else.
"What the future will bring I have no idea at the moment. I can only tell you that discussions have started and we will see."
Van Dijk has played 280 games for Liverpool, winning the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup while also being named UEFA best player in Europe in 2019.
