WATCH: Is this the worst dive in Olympic history?

A Godawful faceplant

Patrick McCarry

Possibly the worst dive in Olympic history.

In the past 24 hours, we have championed the two track athletes that opted for a dive with the finishing line in sight and came out grazed but laughing.

Today, in the pool, at Rio provided a dive that was wrong. all wrong.

Russia’s Ilya Zakharov won diving gold at London 2012 but he did his chances of repeating the dose absolutely no good with this effort.

The judges were none too impressed, themselves, as all seven scored Zakharov 0.0.

That’s what happens when you go for a 3.4 difficulty dive that includes a two-and-a-half somersault.
