VIDEO: Ronnie O’Sullivan takes his frustration out on his poor snooker cue at the Crucible

Clash of the ash

Naughty boy

There isn’t a snooker fan in the world who doesn’t watch Ronnie O Sullivan for the sheer entertainment as well as his incredible skill.

Every single time he takes to the table he could do something magical or outrageous – or perhaps even both.

The former world champion has already lit up this year’s World Championship at the Crucible when he played several frames without his own shoes on earlier this week, and now he’s gone and lost his cool playing Matthew Stevens.

The ‘Rocket’ lost the opening two frames last night and had an opportunity for a simple red in the third when he made a very poor shot to miss the pocket

The Essex man then totally lost the plot as he reacted by smashing his cue against the table.

However, as anyone who plays hurling knows, ash is pretty flexible and the cue bent but did not break.

He looked pretty sheepish afterwards but he did manage to recover his cool to lead 5-3 ahead of this afternoon’s second session.
