VIDEO: Irish commentator burns his English colleague’s ignorance live on Sky Sports

Ireland 1 England 0

Kevin McGillicuddy

Call the fire brigade

In a week when the BBC tried to claim Paul Dunne as British and the whole country was up in arms, Kyle McCallan has struck one back for this great little island of ours this afternoon.

The Antrim native was in action for Sky Sports today as Ireland faced Holland in an ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier when Dominic Cork decided to have a pop at our recent record of playing other international sides.

Well Kyle wasn’t having any of that and decided to put the Englishman back in his box pretty sharpish with a few stingers of responses.

KM : “…I think Irish cricket has had its fair share of success itself.”

DC : “You’re still not going to go on about beating England are you?  You’re not still clinging on with that result?”

KM : “England, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, Pakistan, West Indies, it’s not just about England, Dominic!”

DC : “Isn’t it?”

KM : “Although I have to say any time that Ireland beats England in any sport we’ll rejoice & celebrate”

DC : “Yeah, that doesn’t happen very often, does it?”

KM : “Do you not watch the rugby, Dominic?”

Zing.

The actual footage adds some dramatic pauses as well which just adds to the wonderful barbed nature of the last comment.

Bravo Kyle.
