WATCH: Usain Bolt’s mother was the only one not impressed by his eighth Olympic gold

He could have at least set an Olympic record

Usain Bolt proved again that he is the greatest sprinter in human history.

The Jamaican claimed his eighth Olympic gold medal after destroying the rest of the field in the 200m final in the early hours of Friday morning.

Bolt clocked in at 19.78 seconds, the only sub-20 second run of the night, to win his third straight Olympic gold in the 200m to go alongside his three 100m golds. All that’s left for Bolt to complete the “triple-triple” is to claim top spot in the men’s 4 x 100m relay final tonight/Saturday morning at 2.35am.

Athletics - Olympics: Day 13

The 29-year-old has once again been the most consistently entertaining athlete at the Olympics – not just because of his singing but in the way he cruised through to his finals in style and even took the time to have a joke with a fellow sprinter mid-race.

But not everyone is amused by his antics. In fact, the person you might expect to most enjoy Bolt’s achievement’s is the one who seems least impressed.

In the immediate aftermath of his victory in the 200m final, which we can’t stress enough was his eighth Olympic gold medal, Bolt’s mother appeared either totally bored or completely incapable of processing what her son had just achieved.

Instead of the rapturous celebrations you might expect from the mother of the greatest track Olympian of all-time, Jennifer Bolt looks like she expected more from her son.

Maybe she’ll be ready to celebrate after the ninth gold.

Still, there were those who were amazed by Bolt’s performance. Zac Efron shared his view of the race, while this Jamaican mother displayed the kind of passion that only sport can bring out.

That’s how it’s done.
