Reports from Rio say a controlled explosion was carried out on Saturday before a live bullet was fired at the media tent.

A suspect package was found near the finish line of the men's road race. https://twitter.com/SportsJOEdotie/status/761968916423925760 Then, there were reports that a bullet was shot through the roof of the media centre at the Rio equestrian venue, although they have since been claimed to have been an unintentional shot. Pictures from the scene show a tear in the tent that was said to have been shot through, and pictures also show the fired bullet seen lying on the ground inside the media centre. Media staff were present in the centre at the time of the incident. Military arrived on the scene to investigate the reports.
