O’Sullivan took his sweet time before sealing the deal

Ronnie O’Sullivan allowed a five-frame lead to fritter away before eventually seeing off Judd Trump 10-9 to win his fifth UK Championship title.

O’Sullivan led 5-1 and 9-4 at different stages of the contest but Trump hit back in style, making breaks of 120 and 127 along the way.

The final frame was a cagey affair but a Trump foul opened the door for The Rocket and he made no mistake.

Speaking to BBC after the final, O’Sullivan proclaimed, ‘That was the hardest match I have ever played in.’
