We once tried to grow facial hair. It did not go well.
We ended up with some odd mix of red facial hair and patches on our neck that made us the opposite of what a magnet is.
However if you are an Irish sports star then it seems you can get away with pretty much anything, and the more flimsy the moustache the better.
