IOC vice-president John Coates said: 'The compactness of the Games has to be weighed up against the benefit of using existing venues. These changes do contemplate different cities and countries hosting the Games, and this is for reasons of sustainability.'
With Ireland proposing to host the 2023 World Cup, if we can pull that off then we've got to be in the frame for half an Olympics, no?
