The mixed doubles duo were already guaranteed a bronze medal after beating Polish pair Aneta Wojtkow and Pawel Pietryja on Friday.
Hoping to reach a gold medal match, on Sunday, the Irish team were defeated by France’s Gaetan Mittelheisser and Audrey Fontaine.
The were in trouble early in the first set, which they lost 21-12. They battled bravely in the second and saved two match points before eventually losing it 23-21.
